The Silent Auction Transformed via
Mobile Bidding
We are pleased to announce we will be launching MOBILE BIDDING at the 9th Annual Purses with Purpose, etc. Fun-Raiser for our Silent Auction, allowing for a completely paperless bidding system and it is incredibly simple and easy to use!
Just
bring your pre-registered smartphone (see section 2 below) and you are ready to win some
amazing items! Don't worry, we will have volunteers ready to help you
out and concierge station set-up to place bids for you! Learn more below!
With Mobile bidding, you will bid electronically on silent auction items
using your smartphone, tablet (iPad, Samsung Galaxy, Nook HD, Kindle
Fire, etc) or bidding concierge stations available throughout the event
location. You can easily track your desired items by following their
activity from your mobile device, without having to return to the actual
item.
There will be no auction bidding sheets on the display tables, which will eliminate overcrowding around auction items.
Mobile Bidding will make the event run more efficiently from registration to checkout.

1) What are the benefits to Mobile Bidding?
- All silent auction items are available online or on your
mobile device. There is no need for a paper catalog. You will have the
ability to print your own paper catalog before the event, and a limited
number of catalogs will be available during the event.
- Once bidding starts, you will be alerted on your mobile device when you
have been outbid, so you can instantly respond with another bid.
- Bidding can occur at any location within the auction itself, whether
you are in line for the bar or mingling with friends. You do not have to
be at the display tables to make a bid. All auction bidding will be tracked, displayed and announced in real time throughout the event.
- At the event, the check out process will run efficiently, especially if your credit card information will have been entered into our
system prior to the event.
2) How do I pre-register for mobile bidding?
- To per-register, please make sure you use your cell phone number in the required fields, when you purchase your sponsorship or event tickets.
- This will allow you to participate in mobile bidding at the event.
- We are also able to link your cell phone when you check-in at the event.
3) What about attendees who don't own or don't wish to use mobile devices?
- Laptops or tablets will be available on site for those that don't own or don't wish to use a mobile device.

4) Will this work for both smartphones and standard mobile phones?
- Yes, you can bid with ANY mobile device.

With smartphones and tablets, you can browse, search and bid via a mobile-optimized version of our auction website.
- When registering your device, you will be provided a custom URL for bidding purposes.
- With a standard mobile phone, you can bid and receive alerts via text messaging.
5) How does bidding via text messaging work?
- Text messaging will be available for those with standard mobile phones.

- There are no fees for auction-related messages sent and received by the
software Ronald McDonald House® uses; however, you may incur message fees
depending on your personal text messaging plan.
